 Criminal Justice is the most controversial part of the government administration responsible for the provision of Justice to society. Evidence, research, and facts are building pillars for the criminal justice department because they are the most crucial piece of its work. In the quest to provide free, and fair Justice, evidence is essential. The authorities or bodies responsible for administering justice work based on the evidence supplied to them and if it holds up to the required standards so that they don’t work with hypotheses and theories. The authorities like the police, the courts, and the justice system, including the district attorney, are vested in prosecuting the victims based on the amount of evidence provided to them and if it holds up to the required standards. The facts and research may include tangible evidence like guns, knives, videos, recordings, and even witnesses presented in the court of law. In that sense, five principles guide evidence-based criminal Justice. They include need principle, responsivity, risk principle, dosage, and treatment.
In criminal Justice, evidence-based policies are essential aspects of ensuring Justice for society or the victims. By definition, evidence-based criminal Justice is the conscious approach and focused on using evidence, proof, and research to come up with decisions concerning programs, practice, and on the larger scale, the policy formulation of the whole system. Evidence-based publication may include systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and even practice guidelines. According to(Johnson et al., 2014), it is of great essence for the criminal justice department and authorities to focus on the research and factual evidence before conducting any prosecution. This is because of the American justice system. Has been for long been faulted for not considering evidence-based justice application but instead has been working on conspiracies that often have led to different outcomes, even at times the criminal profiling and incarceration of victims. Some of the evidence-based practices in the Justice or instead in the correctional sectors include enhancing intrinsic motivation, targeting interventions, matching offender traits, using data as a guide, risk assessments, among many other practices(“Evidence-Based Practice,” n.d.). They are the guidelines that are followed before coming up with a well-thought decision in the administration of Justice.
 In policing, different approaches have been in use over time, including the use of police patrols. The police patrols provide law and and respond to emergency calls that often do not require medical assistance. A good example is overspeeding, drunk and ly behaviors, or even home invasions in the streets and neighborhoods. However, this approach has been under much criticism from the public, and some policymakers claiming that it is not efficient in evidence acquisition.
