Informatics nurse specialists have served to act as an intermediary between the technology world and the health care providers by ensuring patient care is improved through the use of accurate data in diagnosis and treatments. The INS should ensure direct care providers are involved in communicating the ethical issues that arise from the use of EHRs instead of leaving this responsibility to hospital executives.

Additionally, most conflicts that arise from the use of EHRs are a result of issues concerning documentation. Therefore INS should design strategies that ensure healthcare givers document accurate health records, thus reducing instances of conflict in the future. These strategies should involve all medical professional entities and should be supported by laid down policies. These include, for example, adoption of the position paper on clinical documentation by the American College of Physicians. By involving professionals from various health providing organizations, the INS will be able to ensure all entities adopt similar guidelines on documentation. The unison in documentation strategies will ensure conflicts of interest are minimized hence reducing moral distress suffered by health caregivers. Having similar guidelines for all organizations will encourage health caregivers to act solely based on their professional values. (Dzeng & Wachter, 2019).The INS should also frequently educate health care organizations executives on the need to encourage their health care providers to act based on their professional ethics rather than on risk management solutions in case of conflicts.
