I recommend Nancy Baym’s book ‘Playing to the crowd’ and you should also check out Keith Negus’ article ‘From creator to data: the post-record music industry and the digital conglomerates’both of which you can track down via google scholar. I’m not sure what access you’ll have for the Baym book, but the library can help I’d imagine.
