Perhaps thinking is just silently talking to ourselves because we are so trained to think in language. from birth people ask how you feel what are you thinking; and you answer in language. We are so trained that we ask ourselves how we are feeling; and answer in language. This is what they meant by the left hemisphere interpreter in the text. The left hemisphere interpreter becomes the over riding soundtrack of our lives giving a continuous verbal play by play of our thoughts. This can be helpful to stay on task but have we lost the ability to just feel without the verbal analysis? When we see a sunset can we just feel the beauty- or are we constanly thinking that the golden color is like the couch we saw at Ikea?
