For Discussion Part of this week’s reading focused on data protection and privacy. Social media continues to be a game changer in the world of marketing and business as a whole. However with great information comes great responsibility. Companies continue to move in the direction of more and more protection of data. Should you be allowed to surf the Web at work? Why or why not? With the spread of COVID-19 earlier this year and the move of multitudes of brick and mortar employees moving to the telework/remote word environment companies have been forced to increase the work from home and telecommute opportunities. Many employees did not have the opportunity to elect to or not to take the work situation. Now that you are in a telework environment and to ensure the protection of data in increased privacy your company increased their monitoring of calls on your corporate issued phones and every keystroke on your computer. What are your thoughts on this increased “watching” and how does it apply to our reading this week? Week 6: Emerging Technologies Data Protection & Privacy (Reading material for the discussion)
