Whilst on placement identify a patient/client and using an appropriate Model of Nursing undertake a comprehensive assessment of this individual

Structure of the assignment (2000 words)

• Provide – Provide an introduction, to the patient/client, remember consent, confidentiality and provide context to the care setting
• Explain – The rationale for your choice of patient
• Outline – the identified Model or framework of nursing used to explain the nursing process
(You may choose Roper Logan and Tierney  why did you choose this one instead of Orem? Briefly explain your rationale – compare, contrast analyse Then outline the chosen model  Activities of daily living Dependence/Independence Lifespan Factors – physical, psychological, social, spiritual, cultural, economic  Individuality)
• Discuss – The nature and purpose of the nursing assessment on your chosen patient/ client.
• Describe – the skills and tools used in this assessment (Communication, dignity, respect etc. should be evident in your description.)
• Nursing Process – Briefly discuss the stages. Remember that Assessment is the first stage!!
• Assessment Findings – Identify and clearly state ONE key patient problem
• Use the Harvard referencing system to accurately reference all relevant literature
