Psychological Concept Projects
Introduction:
Over the course of the semester, students have learned a great deal about general psychological concepts. As a cumulative project, students will complete a Psychological Concept Project. When completing the project, students will choose a topic/concept from the appropriate chapters and the option for how they want to present the information.
For this project, students will present information on ONE topic from textbook chapters 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10. Students are free to choose any concept/topic that is covered from these chapters.
Students have the freedom to choose from the following options when completing each project:
1. Conference Poster
Details:
Each of the project options are explained in detail below. For this project, students may choose from the list of options.
1. Conference Poster: As the name suggests, conference posters are typically used as a presentation tool during professional conferences. These posters have an academic focus and usually convey research information. For our purposes, the conference poster will contain information about your chosen topic. Again, students should Google “Conference Posters” to see examples. The conference poster will be similar to an Infographic in terms of layout; however, while an Infographic stresses data, a conference poster focuses more on information or a message. *NOTE: You will submit your conference poster as a digital file. You will NOT actually print the poster.
a. TIPS: Students who choose to create a Conference Poster for one of their Projects are encouraged to use one of the templates from https://templatelab.com/research-posters/ or https://www.makesigns.com/SciPosters_Templates.aspx .

Altogether, projects are worth 15% toward your overall average in the course. Projects will be graded using the following rubric:
