Introduction

Strategic change management enables organizations to make changes carefully and responsibly. Management of change should b done strategically by planning in an organization. The main purpose of this approach is to protect workers from any possible harm that can occur during the transition period. The paper will explore the management of change with strategic planning using various concepts as discussed in the paper.

What is the role of executives in the process of change management and strategic planning?

There are several functions of the executives in the process of change management and strategic planning. These functions include accountability, clarity, and connections. When an organization undergoes some changes, the leaders are expected to be clear about the events taking place. They are supposed to be accountable for any challenges which may arise in the process of introducing changes in the system. Although employees play a crucial part in the process of changing the culture of an organization, executives are responsible for breaking or making the change (Ramasamy, 2018). The actions they take have a lot of effects on employees’ engagement, recruitment, and performance in an organization. Change management and strategic planning need very committed executives to undertake the task. They are supposed to help other employees in adjusting to the new changes in an organization.

How do issues with diversity and culture related to change management?

Issues with diversity and culture are related to change management in many ways. First diversity has an impact on the way organizations understand their employees. People who have several perspectives help in increasing creativity and problem solving among the workers. Diversity is an important resource to an organization because it creates a competitive advantage. Competition arises because many companies can embrace change within the marketplace and the labor force since they have accepted diversity. It also helps in mitigating conflict that may arise between workers from different identity groups. The advantages which companies get from changing the management that allows diversity are improved resource acquisition, system flexibility, cost advantage, and greater marketing ability.

Diversity and inclusion are important because they are more than programs and policies. The organization will grow revenue because it will have people who can solve problems and think critically on certain issues. Greater readiness to innovate is another advantage in diversity and inclusion. Diversity employs people who hold multiple perspectives hence promoting creativity and innovation in an organization. There is also an increased ability to employ a diverse pool of talents. Many people possessing different abilities are going to be employed in an organization hence bringing together different talents. The talents will enable an organization to grow largely in a diverse way. When diversity and inclusion are practice in an organization it helps to retain employees hence reducing the turnover. Employee turnover affects the performance of an institution. Therefore, diverse and inclusive workplaces get much trust and many committed workers (Tenzer & Pudelko, 2020). Diversity inclusion gives UCCO confidence in dealing with a product. It states its objectives which are concern with team meetings, team buildings, and progress recognition.

Working with other people from diverse cultures helps respect diversity and diverse cultures. Respect comes up because people can now understand each other to create a conducive working environment. One will be able to embrace other peoples’ culture because they can realize that it different but effective just like theirs. They are also able to learn from each other and share knowledge and skills, therefore, respecting each other perspectives because they are equally important just like theirs.

What are the challenges and benefits of employing a diverse workforce?

The benefits of employing a diverse workforce include; First, diverse teamwork can help in increasing creativity and innovation in an organization. Secondly, this type of workforce has access to the local market knowledge, therefore, making the market to be more profitable and competitive. Thirdly, a diverse talent pool helps an organization to get and retain the best talent. The challenges of employing a diverse workforce are; professional communication can be hard to be understood or can be misinterpreted within different cultures and languages (Blancero et al., 2018). Some workers from minority group might find difficult in speaking up because of the inferiority complex. Additionally, integration amongst multicultural teams can be hard especially where negative stereotyping and prejudice is present. Moreover, conflict may arise because of a different understanding of professional working etiquette and different working styles.

Barbara’s plan for encouraging teamwork among a diverse workforce is to help an organization achieve the best-desired objectives. The diverse team will help in coming up with a good strategic plan since the information is gathered from different perspectives. Diverse teamwork promotes creativity and innovation. Comparative team force makes meaningful and valuable contributions to the team tasks and projects. Barbara wants to achieve the best results by involving different clinic managers in the reviewing strategic plan. However, during the meeting, she was faced with the challenge of degradation and conflicting comments. She realizes that there are personality conflicts and incidents of subordination. does this because he wants to get different views from a diverse ground to enable make a good judgment.
